LUNARTECH Announces Leadership Transition as Tatev Aslanyan Appointed Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia

LUNARTECH Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Tatev Aslanyan enters public service as Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia; Co-Founder Vahe Aslanyan assumes leadership of LUNARTECH as the company enters its next phase of growth.

August 24, 2026 — LUNARTECH today announced an important leadership transition following the appointment of its Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tatev Aslanyan, as Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia.

The appointment represents a significant milestone both for Aslanyan and for LUNARTECH. After helping build and lead the organization from its formative stages into an international artificial intelligence and deep-technology company, Aslanyan will bring more than a decade of experience across artificial intelligence, data science, deep technology, education and health technology into public service.

In her new role, Aslanyan will contribute to Armenia's efforts to strengthen its high-technology economy, expand its artificial intelligence capabilities, support entrepreneurs and engineers, deepen international technology partnerships and build the foundations required for the country's next generation of innovation.

For LUNARTECH, the transition also reflects a broader principle underlying the organization since its formation: technological capability creates its greatest value when it extends beyond individual companies and contributes to institutions, economies and societies.

“Armenia is my homeland. To be trusted with helping shape its technology sector and its future in artificial intelligence is the honor of a lifetime — and a responsibility I do not take lightly,” Aslanyan said. “Everything I have learned over the past decade — building AI and technology startups across deep tech, education and healthtech, and working alongside engineers, researchers and institutions across Europe and North America — I now bring home in service of my country.”

Aslanyan co-founded LUNARTECH and served as its CEO from 2023 to 2026, helping establish the company across technical education, artificial intelligence and applied technology. During that period, LUNARTECH expanded internationally, developed a growing portfolio of AI technologies and built an ecosystem spanning its Labs, Academy, Fellowship and commercial products.

The organization has subsequently developed technologies including Octavia, Edge, Babel, Memento, Valeria, Daniela, Aura and Dark Phoenix, alongside more than 100 specialized AI agents and a broader infrastructure for building and deploying artificial intelligence systems.

LUNARTECH has also received the European Union Seal of Excellence and has been recognized among leading AI innovators in Texas, as the organization has evolved from technical education into a broader AI research, engineering and deployment platform.

Aslanyan has additionally co-founded and led SeleneX, an AI-focused health technology company working across clinical intelligence and advanced healthcare applications.

Her transition into government therefore brings together experience across commercial technology, scientific research, entrepreneurship and the development of AI organizations — capabilities that are increasingly important as nations compete to establish durable positions in the global artificial intelligence economy.

Leadership Transition at LUNARTECH

As Aslanyan enters public service, leadership of LUNARTECH has transitioned to Co-Founder Vahe Aslanyan, who will lead the company's next stage of development.

The transition has been structured to preserve continuity across LUNARTECH's technology portfolio, Labs, engineering organization and long-term strategy while enabling the company to accelerate its expansion as an independent artificial intelligence institution.

“The leadership of LUNARTECH and SeleneX is now in the trusted hands of my Co-Founder, Vahe Aslanyan, and I could not be more confident in what lies ahead for both companies,” Tatev Aslanyan said.

Under its next phase of leadership, LUNARTECH intends to continue expanding its engineering organization, strengthening its AI Labs and moving its technologies from development into increasingly large-scale commercial deployment.

The company is building around an integrated model in which research, engineering, infrastructure, talent development and commercialization reinforce one another. Its objective is not to develop isolated AI applications, but to establish the technical and institutional capacity required to repeatedly build advanced systems and deploy them across global markets.

The leadership transition comes as LUNARTECH is increasing its technical capabilities, bringing additional engineers and experienced technology professionals into the organization and advancing products including Octavia, its AI-powered video translation and localization platform.

Technology as National Capability

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly consequential to national competitiveness, LUNARTECH believes the movement of experienced technologists between industry, research and public institutions can play an important role in developing stronger technology ecosystems.

Armenia has a substantial engineering tradition, a globally distributed technology diaspora and a growing position within the international AI ecosystem. Developing that position further will require not only technical talent, but infrastructure, investment, entrepreneurship, international partnerships and institutions capable of translating technological capability into sustained economic value.

Aslanyan has identified strengthening this ecosystem as a central priority of her public service.

“My mission in this role is clear: to help make Armenia a true regional and global force in high-tech and AI — to strengthen our ecosystem, empower our engineers and founders, and build the foundations for the next generation of Armenian innovation.”

For LUNARTECH, her appointment represents both the conclusion of an important chapter and the beginning of two new ones: the continued development of LUNARTECH under new leadership, and the application of experience accumulated through years of building technology companies toward Armenia's broader technological ambitions.

LUNARTECH congratulates Tatev Aslanyan on her appointment and recognizes her contribution to building the organization, its culture and its technological foundations.

In service of Armenia, and toward the continued advancement of technology globally.
